Without actually, you know, tuning anything on the powertrain of the 2010 Toyota Prius, Japanese tuning company Tommi Kaira has unveiled its version of the third-generation iconic hybrid. The efficient sleekness of the original front end has been replaced by a new front lip spoiler and air intakes. The 2010 Prius' new vertical front lights get emphasized in the Tommi Kaira version, which somehow sort of works for us. The backside features a new bumper and a four-pipe exhaust system, which sends a confusing mixed message on a car this obviously green. Tommi Kaira also added larger wheels and lowered the ride height. No word yet on how much the package costs, but if we're going to spend extra money on a Prius, we sort of want it to go towards upping the mpg capabilities even further.

Not many. Seems to be more common in Japan than the US, though.

Seriously Sweet!
One pipe for each cylinder... just like my faincee's motorcycle (thumper).

It makes sense to put this on a Prius...

All the better to make a loud, resounding scrap everytime you encounter a slight hill.

Yeah, cheap looking plastic body panels glued onto an existing body. First time the owners pulls up too close to a curb, SNAP.

i think it's great. it's not my taste, but if you want eco-friendly cars like the prius to ever be accepted by mainstream america, they are going to have to appeal to something other than practicality. they are going to have to be "cool." that's what has sold cars for decades, and has arguably helped the success of the prius itself, as it is now becoming fashionable to be "green."
and for the record Tommy Kaira doesn't make cheap plastic bits.
